"I
have come that they may have life, and have it to the
full"
Jesus John 10:10b
God's desire has
always been for life. He was the Creator of it. And when
death was introduced into the world through sin, He was the
re-Creator of it. In fact, the New Testament book of John
speaks primarily to this need. Chapter after chapter you
read of Jesus offering life to those who He came into
contact with. Wether it was the bread of
life or the
living
water, or the
life that
was the light of all men. Over and Over
He was trying to create an interest in His listeners to
want this life He had to offer. This could only mean one
thing... mankind didn't have life.
What is it that takes life? Death, but more
specifically sin.
Sin was what introduced death into the world and sin
continues to kill us. Whether it's in relationships or jobs
or in many other areas, you most likely experience
frustrations, breakdowns and bondage because of sin. Even
in your relationship to God, sin has separated you from
Him. Not just separation here on earth, but worse, a
complete and eternal separation when this life is over.
Don't let this truth become background noise for you.
Listen to it carefully.
That is why God has given us His Son and His word. His Son,
Jesus Christ, has shed His Life-giving
blood for us. So
that we can have the sin of our lives washed away. This is
the requirement of God, and consequently there is no other
cleansing agent but the blood. Additionally He has given us
His word so that we may sin no more and walk in a way that
pleases Him.
Do you have life? Life as God defines it, not life as
anyone else defines it. For He who has the Son has life
indeed, but he who does not have the Son does not have
life. If you recognize your need for it, you need to ask
Christ for forgiveness of your sins. To have them covered
under His blood. Then from there make it your hearts desire
to live for Christ and according to His word... at any
cost. Finally get in His word and in a good church. And let
us know how we can pray for you.
"He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the
Son of God does not have life." 1 John
